Week 9- Trousers 3 Jersey, wet look pvc and Leatherette

For the final trousers i decided to make two outfits and test myself abit because i know working in the fashion industry you have to challenge yourself.
I made a pair of leggingswith a matching waist jacket and a jumpsuit. I knew if i put in the correct time and effort i would succed.
I fell in love with the leggings material, it was so urban and in date. I was inspired my the music and rap culture (artists such as Nicki Minaj and Jesse J) two well known music artists.

 I did not copy something i that the media has seen them in before, instead i worked with my own original style to create something which the celebs would most likley want to wear.

I had to use my little brother for this fitting as my mannequinn was too big :)

I used hooks as a decorative feature.

This was one of my most succesful garments so i also used it in UEL 1st year independent fashion show

Jumpsuit
When i hear the word 'jumpsuit' I imagine 'catwoman'. I did not have an initial idea for this jumpsuit i wanted to do it as i went along and see what i could create.
I cut out a basic jumpsuit pattern, took in 4cm on each leg to make it fittted around the leg area. I then left it a day befor continuing my jumpsuit because i did not want it to look so basic i wanted it to have interesting features.
I then decided to take away a 'v' shape from the front and from the back.
I had trouble with sewing on the arms (as i have never done arms before) but i had verbal help and guidance from maxine over the phone and things became alot clearer.

I am really proud of this garment because i have gone from 1/10 to about 6/10 in the space of a few weeks, this module really has helped me step my game up and seeing the result of my jumpsuit mad me more confident as a person.
